ChequeScribe I is PC Windows software system that allows financial institutions to provide personalized checks and other MICR documents on a desktop laser printer equipped with a MICR toner cartridge.

Security check paper
Personal checks are printed on 8 1/2" x 11" paper, perforated four checks to a page. Business checks are printed on 8 1/2" x 7" paper with two checks per page. Security check paper comes in a variety of background patterns and colours and contains security features such as Chemical "VOID", micro-printing, toner grip and artificial watermarks.

Audit reports
All check printing activity is recorded in a database from which a variety of standard or customized reports may be printed.

The MICR line is printed to meet character design and positioning requirements of the Canadian Banking Association, American Banking Association, and American National Standards Institute.

Security is assured
A security hardlock key which attaches to the printer port of the PC is required to print valid checks. Without this key, which is uniquely programmed to recognize ChequeScribe, checks print with the word NON-NEGOTIABLE across the face. Access to ChequeScribe is controlled through passwords. An unlimited number of user passwords may be set up by designated operators.

Computer environments
ChequeScribe runs on a personal computer that can run Microsoft® Windows™ 3.1, Windows™ 95, 98, NT and Windows 2000. ChequeScribe can be used with or without a mouse. ChequeScribe operates on a stand-alone PC, a Local Area Network, and a Wide Area Network.
